When it comes to a professional photography session, you might have some questions in mind, but I’m here to help! Here are the 5 most asked questions about maternity photography session:
1. When is the best time to book a maternity session?
The ideal time for a maternity session is between 30-36 weeks. We want your belly to be beautiful and round but it would best to get the shots before you are too uncomfortable.
2. Where do maternity sessions take place?
It all depends of your style and what you expect from your session. I do offer maternity photography session at my studio in Richmond BC, at outside location in Metro Vancouver Area or at client’s home. We will go through your goals and expections at the pre-consultation (in person or over email/phone).
3. How long is a maternity session?
Studio sessions last about 3 hours (including professional hair&makeup service). Outdoor session or sessions at home last about 1 hour.
4. Are spouses and children able to participate?
Absolutely! Although the majority of the session is meant for the mom, your partner and older kids are more than welcome to join the photo session too.
5. Is there a specific wardrobe for a maternity session?
I have maternity gowns and accessories for you to try and select your favourites. If you are comfortable with nude/skin shots and/or fabric shots, I have plenty of lovely fabric and wardrobe in the studio. Lacey boy shorts and bras, as well as lingerie, add a nice touch under fabric or alone. I will respect your style and create images that you will LOVE.
