Headshots that look like your child on their best day
Casting directors and agents aren't looking for glamour, they're looking for your child. A great child actor headshot is true-to-life: bright eyes, honest expression, and a look that walks into the audition room and matches the kid on the page.
We shoot for agency submissions and auditions, with a range of expressions across simple backgrounds that keep the focus on your child. Light retouching only: no one should be surprised when your kid walks in.
Sessions are quick and play-based, because nobody's best expression happens under pressure. You'll leave with a selection of images to agency specs, delivered fast so you never miss a submission deadline.

performing families
This is the 3rd time we have used Amanda for our kids' photoshoots. Amanda is extremely professional, very patient and handles your newborn with such care. Each time our photos have turned out absolutely amazing and she provides such a good variety of shots. Can't recommend Amanda enough and we know we will be back for more family photo sessions.
Amanda has been a pleasure to work with. She made my daughter very comfortable for the photos and she was smiling throughout. Every single photo turned out to be amazing. Became very hard for us to choose the best ones as Amanda captured so many beautiful moments. Would love to work with her again in the future on any opportunity we get.
My family and I had an excellent experience with Amanda for our family photo shoot. She is a true experienced professional who managed to make my two little girls feel comfortable during our session and our photos turned out wonderful. Her studio is clean and there are also toys available to keep the little ones occupied when needed.
The best photographer in Calgary! I couldn't recommend it more!

Child headshot questions, answered
What's the right age for child actor headshots?
Any age from toddlers through teens. If your child is old enough to respond to prompts and games, we can capture usable expressions. Babies and young toddlers work too, though agencies usually expect refreshed images more frequently at those ages.
How often should headshots be refreshed?
Kids change fast. As a rule of thumb: every 6–12 months for children under five, and whenever their look changes meaningfully, like a new haircut, lost teeth, or a growth spurt that no longer matches the photo.
Do you follow agency requirements for retouching?
Yes. Agencies universally want true-to-life images. Heavy retouching can get a submission rejected. We deliver clean, lightly retouched files in the crop sizes and formats your agency or casting call specifies.
What should my child wear?
Simple, solid-coloured tops that suit the looks you need. Bright and cheerful for commercial, softer neutrals for theatrical. Bring a couple of options; we'll finalize at the session and keep props out of the frame.
How many looks do we get?
Most sessions cover two to four looks within an hour, which is plenty for a typical agency submission. If your agent has requested something specific, tell us at the discovery call and we'll build the shot list around it.
How fast is the turnaround?
Selection happens right after the session, and final edited images are usually delivered within 7 days.
Ready for submission-ready headshots?
Tell us your child's age and your agency's requirements. The discovery call is free and we'll map out the looks your submission needs.
