In many eastern countries it is common to celebrate when babies turn 100 days old. The reason varies from country to country and it can range from celebrating the end of the fourth trimester or that baby survived his/her first 100 days.

Megan is 100 days old and SO adorable! She really enjoyed the tummy time pose and she loves to make eye contact. Megan slept for a few minutes during her baby photo session and I was able to capture her little toes and chubby cheeks.

It is very important to celebrate this special date with a professional photographer specialised in baby photography. These memories will last forever and there is no best feeling than showing to Megan a few years later how she enjoyed this photo session.

How to choose a newborn photographer?

Expecting a baby is truly the most exciting time of your life and you definitely want to capture the first moments of your little one’s life. With so many options out there, you must be wondering how you should choose a newborn photographer.

1. Style. Go through their portfolio, ask to see an entire gallery of a newborn session. Make sure you love the photographer’s style, colours, accessories, props, etc. Hiring a photographer is a very personal experience, so choose for images that speak to you. This is such a unique moment and it won’t be possible to create these memories again, so take some time to search and search, until you find someone that you absolutely LOVE.

2. References. Ask for references and testimonials about the photographer. Look for reviews at google or at photographer’s website. Newborn sessions last 2-4 hours, so having a great experience is equally import as having perfect poses and images.

3. Experience. Ask how long they have been in business. Did they attend to newborn photography workshops/classes? They will be handling the most important person of your life, and safety must be always photographer’s number one priority. An experienced newborn photographer knows all the secrets about posing, lighting, soothing and of course, he/she must be very patient.

These memories will be in your family for years to come. Your family will enjoy them together when your children get older and even when expecting their own baby. Choose a professional newborn photographer that will provide you with an amazing experience and stunning images.

Sweet Renee was 10 days fresh when I met her and she was my first newborn of 2017. I love all of her little features! I was so happy to have the opportunity to create those beautiful memories for her family.

“I brought my baby in for a session when she was 10 days old! Amanda did an amazing job! She was super friendly, and professional at the same time. The photo came out so great that I couldn’t resist buying more selection! Would definitely recommend to everyone, and looking to have my photo done at other milestones as well.” – Mandy L. {Renee’s mom}.

Sweet Fateh, 28 days new and cute as can be. I was so impressed that he was making eye contact already, and at the beginning of the session he didn’t want to miss anything. I’m so glad that we got those sleepy poses with him, even that he was a little bit older. Fateh did an amazing job on his first photography session and I had a great time with him and his family 🙂

Best Time to Book a Newborn Photo Session

I know that once baby is born you will have a lot on your mind, and choosing a newborn photographer might not be the first thing on your list. That’s why it’s best to book your little one’s photo session a couple months before your due date. After completing the online agreement and a deposit, I will add your estimate due date on my calendar, and once baby arrives we schedule the newborn session within 2 weeks. Newborn photography session should be booked ideally within the first 5-10 days of life, at this age babies are more sleepy and curly. But I’m always happy to work with older newborns, so if your baby is already born, don’t hesitate to contact me, I might have a last minute opening and I’d love to work with your family!
