I think that one of the most requested poses is the “froggy pose” and it is the most challenging one since this is not a natural pose for the baby. Still, the baby is always safe and comfortable and the final image is a composite of 2 shots, one holding the baby’s head and another one holding baby’s chin (as you can see at the end of this post). Baby is NEVER left in this pose on his/her own. It’s not possible to achieve the froggy with every baby, and I never promise any particular pose to the parents. All babies are different and we let him/her lead the session. In nine years of working with newborns, safety is always my number one priority and I’m very gentle moving hands, feet, and little fingers and posing the baby. A perfect image for me is when the baby looks happy and comfortable!
