Newborn and Family Photographer in Vancouver | Baron

If you browse my website for a few minutes you will notice a lot of colours and bright images! My style is fun, modern and I love to explore my creativity and create unique sets for each client. A lot of times I’m asked about my workflow during a newborn session and to be honest I don’t have an answer for that. I’m the kind of person that cannot do the same things every single day so that’s why newborn and baby photography is the perfect job for me! I get to meet different people and cute babies every day and they are all one-of-a-kind with their own needs. Every day for me is different so are my sessions.

I like to spend some time before the newborn photography session at my studio in Richmond, putting props, backdrops and accessories together and creating setups that I never shot before. Even after 5 years working as a newborn photographer, I do every session very unique because each client is singular and every photo has a special meaning.

Black is not a very requested colour for newborn photography sessions but once I saw that request on Baron’s newborn session questionnaire I was so excited. During the newborn session, I kept thinking to myself ‘why don’t I use black more often?’ .. it just looks amazing! Besides the black, I also used some grey and a touch of blue for Baron newborn photo shoot. Big brother did an amazing job and he was so proud of his little brother and I am sure they will cherish those images for years to come.

For newborn sessions, I try to get as much versatility in them as I can by alternating and switching out the wraps, headbands, and other accessories just to make sure we get as many different shots as possible. I also like to pose them differently and try to get them awake, sleeping, smiling, and all swaddled up.

If you are expecting and would like to have beautiful memories of your family, contact Amanda Dams Photography and book your newborn session today. It’s never too early to book your little one’s newborn session and spots are limited.
